Maryan Bani
Is a visual artist based in Tel Aviv
Maryan Bani, visual artist, creative director, writer.
After more than a decade working as Creative Director and Art Director in advertising agencies, Maryan engages in art and writing during an obscure period, full of fear and difficulty, mentally and physically coping with breast cancer.
Her works touch on a personal point in time that comprises wisdom and feminine form while facing sharp, deep and internal pain.
Marian examines sexual symbols through natural images of juicy chopped vegetables representing amputated organs. Connection between passion and pain. Between female power and weakness.
The drawings were created on the pages of the mythological Burda cuts out of childhood memory and longing.
As far as Maryan is concerned, art heals and soothes, releases and gives refuge to pain. The intricate Burda background produces an emotional maze spring in front of the illustration of the fruit and vegetable that simulates an entire female, sexual, burning, living, and sharp world.
Through her art, Maryan flyes high-up, releases inhibitions and allows herself to reflect and reshape the concept of time, pain and femininity according to her personal perception and gives strength to other women to deal with breast cancer through creation, acceptance, release of body and mind.
Maryan produces in different and varied techniques, through illustration and drawing on different materials.
